So if exercising can prevent diabetes then it could also play a role in preventing Alzheimer’s. Exercise has also shown to stimulate brain activity. Physical exercises, along with brain exercises, are also being looked into in many studies.
Diet has been known to play a large part in our health and well-being years. That’s nothing new. However research has found that eating certain green leafy vegetables, such as lettuce and broccoli, can help slow the decline of cognitive functions. The other side of this study showed that certain fatty foods and refined carbohydrates could cause an increase in decline.
A possible link in risk of Alzheimer’s to other diseases and dietary supplements is also being studied. For example, some studies have shown that there is an increase of risk of those with heart disease, but at the same time other studies have shown no correlation. The same applies to dietary supplements. These studies continue and there is hope of more conclusive results surfacing.
